Who We Are
A Community Where
All Children Thrive

Supportive Community Learning is dedicated to providing inclusive services in child care and early learning settings, in southern Indiana. At the Butterfly House, we maintain a learning classroom for support groups, structured play groups and workshops. Early childhood clients from our parent company, Supportive Community Innovations also use this additional learning space. We call this side of the Butterfly House the cocoon because it is designed to be a cozy, safe space for young children and families and children with developmental disabilities who are preparing for the inclusion setting.
The cocoon is home to our structured playgroups, family support services and one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis services for young children. Supportive Community Innovations provides behavior, recreation and mental health counseling services to people of all of ages in southern Indiana. The Butterfly House is the first inclusive childcare sight developed by Supportive Community Innovations.

More
About
Play is the work of early childhood and we do all we can to create environments where children can play to their heart's content! Our staff spends time listening, observing and documenting the children during their play so we can extend their interests in our classroom centers and outdoor playscapes. We also imbed social-emotional learning and cognitive development opportunities into daily schedule so that each child has opportunities to advance at her just-right level. Most importantly, we let children play and the open-ended invitations we create with them bring continual discovery and exploration. We also value the arts and give children many options for painting and other media, music and movement.
